Impact Area Alpha
The Grafenwöhr training area is used by American, German and NATO allies to train together and improve cooperation. The impact areas are designated zones within the training area for the use of artillery. They are maintained by the U.S. Army, the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and the Federal Forestry Service as part of a partnership to preserve nature so plants and wildlife can thrive alongside military operations.
