Hans Hathaway
Hans Hathaway looked after the skeet range on the site and was an instructor for US soldiers and civilians for the German hunting license. The U.S. Army veteran has lived in Germany for several decades. His Franconian wife and he are foster parents. He speaks fluent German or Franconian and Upper Palatinate dialect.
We live in a town not too far away from Eschenbach, which is in the Oberpfalz within the borders of the Oberpfalz.

And so they get the they get the Oberpfalz dialect from the surroundings around the house.
But because my wife is Fränkisch, yes there’s a lot of Fränkisch that is being spoken at home. And I will even catch, I will catch Omar saying specific Fränkisch words like „a weng“ and „a weng“ in Fränkisch is in Oberpfalz „a bissl“.
Der fränkische Dialekt is wie dahaam. Even a Franke, my wife, when she hears it on TV she’s like „Ach du Scheiße, unser Dialekt ist grausam“. It’s a mix of dialects at home and languages, whether it’s English and or German.
I guess whether it’s a dialect or not, still a different language.
So I like to say there’s like four languages being spoken at the house or three.
