Frank Heinrich
Frank Heinrich, a collector of American muscle cars and military vehicles, feels a close connection to America. For him, a former GDR citizen and refugee, the USA has always embodied democracy and freedom. For more than thirty years, he has made it his mission to restore old American vehicles and now also Bell UH-1 Huey helicopters, thus preserving them for posterity.
On special occasions, such as the Change of Command of the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade in Katterbach, he spends hours setting up one of his not fit to fly helicopters and displays it free of charge. It is his way of thanking the Americans for his freedom.
